March has flown by, with focuses on training our new starter, exhibition preparation, supporting our staff in charitable events, a new office fit out and some internal training.
Inside Kortec
New Starter
Welcome to the newest member of our Client Care team – Sienna Atkins!

Attending Materials & Finishes Show
Birmingham, here we come!
We are excited to announce we will be exhibiting at this year's Materials & Finishes Show, at the NEC, Birmingham.
The show is the UK's trade show for the furniture manufacturing and joinery industries, giving us a chance to showcase our latest products while providing visitors an opportunity to ask our expert team any questions you may have about all things paint!
We also have a dedicated space on our stand to demonstrate the amazing adhesion and durability of our single-pack paint with FIRA Gold accreditation – Varlaq.
This is our first move into the exhibition space, however, with so much to shout about, we couldn’t keep it to ourselves any longer.
We’ll keep you posted on the development of our stand and the demonstrations you can get involved in at the event.
Doing A Runner...
This month sees our Purchasing Lead, Matt Cox, take on the daunting challenge of the Manchester Marathon.
For the last few months, Matt has been preparing himself, following a strict programme of timed runs and distances, all leading to the big event on April 14.
We are extremely proud of Matt, for committing to this and for putting in the endless hours of training and dedication needed to navigate the 26.2 miles ahead of him.
Matt will be raising money for Charity Link Leicester, a charity that helps individuals and families in desperate need across Leicestershire, Rutland and Northamptonshire to have the essential items they all deserve for a decent standard of living.
I’m sure you will join us in wishing Matt the best of luck (…and not too many blisters), click the button below to find out more and to support Matt on his marathon journey.
New Office Fit Out
As we mentioned at the beginning of the year, with several new members joining our team and further growth planned in 2024, we have had to update our office layout to create more space – we have upgraded the office by adding an additional meeting room and by increasing the number of desks to accommodate all staff members comfortably.
Internal Training Refresher
To keep our team up to date and also educate our new starters about our paints’ journey after creation, we asked our own Paul Maskrey to hold a refresher training session on the Autoline paint application method, helping our internal team understand the full service we provide for our customers, learn a little about our customers’ challenges and the reason behind the strong, trusted relationships we have built.
Heroes of the Month
Congratulations to all our Heroes of February!
We are pleased to announce that February’s top scorers against our values (Respect, Innovation, Dynamism and Expertise) were:
Paint Industry News
We were really interested to see this pop up recently https://coatings.org.uk/news/news.asp?id=663726 – it’s great to see the increasing awareness of mental health and wellbeing in the industry.
This was particularly relevant for us just now – as you may have noticed in one of our earlier issues, last year we designated a team of Wellbeing Champions for the Kortec team, and over the last few weeks they have been catching up with all of our colleagues. As always, it’s about not just getting the awareness and feedback, but being able to positively action improvements!
Coming Soon...
Keep an eye out for our next edition, with more news and updates!
