We understand that precise colour-matching is critical for our clients. Our constantly evolving process, Kolorteq is our own science-driven colour matching system delivering the highest levels of accuracy and performance. Below we detail the steps involved in our unique process, which have helped us achieve our enviable reputation and position in the paint industry.

The Kolorteq Process

Stage 1: Obtaining a sample

Send us a small piece of what you require matching (this can be wet or dry) to provide the most accurate match, we can then understand the finish and colour, both crucial factors when creating the closest possible match.

Stage 2: Spectrophotometer Scan

If we haven’t already got this colour on our system, our lab team will scan the colour swatch, or your sample, directly into our matching-system.

Stage 3: Spray Out

We always spray out, not draw-down, within our lab to remove variations of finish and generate a more accurate match.
Kolortec - Stage 3

Stage 4: Precision Matching

The colour match is typically within a tolerance of Delta E 0.3 or less, delivering near-perfect accuracy. Regular batch-to-batch testing ensures consistency and accuracy of colour, every time.

Stage 5: Record & Refine

Constant checks and adjustments are made throughout the process, to ensure accuracy at every stage.
Kolortec - Stage 5

Stage 6: Consistency

Every batch is checked against our standards, and your previous batch, to ensure an exact match. Exact match is too strong. Needs to be careful who this goes too. For smaller volume customers or metal guys, the tolerances are wider.

I've ben using kortec for a couple of years now, and been very pleased. Paul, my rep, is incredibly knowledgeable (the kind of knowledge that you get as an experienced spray finisher, not just from knowing the tech specs of your products) and has always been a great help. The office staff are always helpful and friendly, and are just generally very pleasant to deal with. I've never had a late/missed/wrong delivery and every colour match has been very good. Deliveries are always well packaged (from 5l tins to 25l drums, I've never had a severely damaged delivery, and mine come through a courier usually). All in all I couldn't be happier with the service I have received and the company should be very proud of the team as a whole, highly recommend.

I contacted Kortec after looking for an alternative way of manufacturing our table tops, and having issues with the reactivity of our current material. Paul came to visit to assess our requirements, and gave us a material to try, and was nothing short of helpful! We have ended up switching and reducing our time spent during the manufacturing process. Excellent service thank you all!
