August’s company insights include an introduction to our new logistics driver, Missions, Vision and Values focus and our heroes of the month.
Inside Kortec
Welcome To Our New Logistics Operative, Karl Demidh!
You may have already met Karl out and about - he is our newest member of the logistics team here at Kortec. His main role involves delivering our products on time and collecting samples from clients when necessary. When Karl is not out on the road, he works closely with our operations and warehouse team helping them with their day-to-day tasks as well as helping to pick orders.
Mission & Vision Reset
We see a strong clear Mission and Vision as being vital to a strong progressive business, as they provide an inspiring view of the shared direction of the team, maximising alignment and teamwork.
Earlier this year it became clear that with the continued growth and evolution of Kortec, we needed to update our Mission and Vision to maintain this pathway, so we’ve been working with the team and external professionals on this.
The Kortec team are proud to share our new Mission and Vision for the future:
Together, these mean that we are aiming to be the most valuable coating partner in our designated markets – we know we’re not there yet, but we’re enthused and committed to delivering on them!
A New Focus On Our Values
Alongside the Mission/Vision refresh, we realised that we needed to refocus on our company values – with a fast-growing team and constant change, it is really important that we keep working according to our core standards.
Many of you will already be familiar with our values concept of “Enjoy the RIDE”: Respect, Innovation, Dynamism, Expertise. We’re not changing these; just working to ensure the whole team understand the ideals involved and are positively driving them.
As a team we held workshops around them and updated brief and detailed definitions – this is an ongoing process to make sure they are thoroughly embedded across the team and we are all working according to them.
Isocyanate Training
In preparation for the new isocyanate regulations taking effect after the 24th of August 2023, we have ensured that both our sales and operations teams have completed the necessary training needed to make sure that they meet the new requirements.
Please be aware that this training requirement also applies to end users such as yourselves and needs renewing every 5 years. You can find training courses that have been developed by the manufacturers to meet this requirement on http://www.safeusediisocyanates.eu.
Heroes Of The Month
Congratulations to all our Heroes for this month!
Here at Kortec we run a team recognition platform called Motivosity to thank and reward our team. From this platform each month the top scorers for each of our four values (Respect, Innovation, Dynamism and Expertise) win a Hero prize including a gift card!
We would like to take the time to congratulate July’s winners...
A Quick Recap
Looking back at our recent LinkedIn updates:
And the Quarter 2 Operations team results are in…
Our Operations team work extremely hard to ensure that we deliver consistently to the standard you need, and as part of this they are targeted on the 5S system (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardise and Sustain), We call this "Operation Pitstop", tying into the Formula 1 ideals of perfect speed and efficiency!
Across Quarter 2 the team achieved a score of 96% across all areas - congratulations to the team for continued high standards of work!
Paint Industry News
We noticed this article (click here to view) from one of our supply partners recently, highlighting their Sustainability achievements and goals.
This is a constantly growing subject and something that Kortec see as critical to the future of the industry – with our strong focus on water-based and low-hazard products we are driving progress in this area, and we are developing a formal Sustainability plan currently.
We’re proud to work with companies that support the same aims!
