Inside Kortec
Team Development / Role Changes
With Kortec’s continual growth, we are finding more new positions opening up and where appropriate we are looking for internal promotions first!
We are pleased to announce two new changes:
Simon Long will be moving roles from Logistics Operative to Operations Lead – coordinating the logistics department.
Reece Strode’s role title has been updated to Chief of Sales, as this is more representative of his current role taking responsibility for the sales department as a whole.
Congratulations to Simon and Reece!
Heroes Of The Month
Congratulations to all our Heroes of November!
We are pleased to announce that November's top scorers for each of our four values (Respect, Innovation, Dynamism and Expertise) were:
Jotun Training
As you may be aware earlier this year Jotun kindly offered to run a general training session for us, to help towards the continual education of our new recruits and to help refresh the technical knowledge of the whole team. As the training provided in April has enhanced our team’s knowledge, we wanted to ensure that we expanded their knowledge further.
In this session Gary and Peter went over the following areas:
- Product range and the variability of uses for the products.
- What preparation metal needs before paint is applied and why.
- What questions to ask a customer so we can offer the correct system.
- Why different types of paint are required for different environment / situations.
- The different Thinners they use.
We are extremely grateful for the time given to our team and the trusted partnership we have grown with Jotun over the years – thanks Gary and Peter once again!

A Quick Recap- RESPECT - Overview on our Values
Looking back at our recent LinkedIn updates:
Looking back at our recent LinkedIn updates:
RESPECT - what's it all about?
At Kortec, we define it as "Honest, kind and timely teamwork"
Really it's about treating others not just how you would like to be treated, but how they want to be treated. That applies to everyone - not just our team and our clients, but our suppliers, business partners, service agents etc.
We've proved this works for us in many ways:
- honesty means we're never trying to pull the wool over anyone's eyes (internally or externally) - so we can have robust and open conversations that reach strong solutions
- kindness means that those we work with are always willing to go the extra mile when needed - we look after each other
- being timely means we're proactive and stuff gets done - leaving things till the last minute doesn't do anybody any good
And finally teamwork - we laugh at the old "makes the dream work" cliche, but it's really true! We've proved so many times that there are always unexpected resources across the team to meet any need, as long as we remember to work on it as a team.
So Respect works for us, and we believe it works for all our contacts too.
