Reviewing Current Systems & A New Abrasives Partner

Start of External Training Courses

It’s great to see Luke, Holly and Matt attending some top-quality courses from external providers. As mentioned previously, we want to ensure that our team continues to move forward through 2024.

We are excited to see how these courses will help to expand their current knowledge base and skills!

Systems Review... Including AI!

We believe in great systems helping us deliver top-class service and performance, so it’s critical we ensure our systems are fit-for-purpose and future-proof at all times.

To help us with this we’ve engaged Freeman Clarke, a leading technology support agency, to review our current systems and help create a forward-looking plan to keep Kortec at the top of its game!

This includes looking at possible uses of AI across the business and other cutting-edge technologies – we’re excited to see what comes out of it!

New Abrasives Partner

We’ve recently been researching potential collaborators for the supply of abrasives. After careful consideration, we’re very happy to announce that we’ve selected Mirka as our new abrasives partner!

As you will be aware, Mirka are a top-quality manufacturer of a huge range of abrasives, bringing leading technology and some real points of difference to this key field. We’re really enthusiastic about adding Mirka to our key partner list – great preparation is critical to achieving a great paint finish, and this means we can support the whole process in future!

We look forward to launching this new addition to our offering, and will be in touch further over the next few weeks.

Heroes of the Month

Congratulations to all our Heroes of January!

We are pleased to announce that January’s top scorers against our values (Respect, Innovation, Dynamism and Expertise) were:

Unrivalled Colour-Matching System

42 colour samples matched to a 0.3 Delta E reading in less than 4 weeks – with zero rejections.

Our unrivalled colour-matching system, Kolorteq, has enabled this impressive transition from solvent to water-based coatings for one of our clients, improving on the reliability and accuracy they had previously achieved, in a cleaner, safer and more efficient way.

We have recently read this article by coatingsworld which talks about how different Colours can impact a person’s feelings, creativity, and productivity. There are some fascinating views made – as the trend in colours are continually changing within the industry due to the modern market.

Keep an eye out for our next edition, with more news and updates!

Top Obstacles to Consistent Colour
10 Jan, 2024
Consistent paint colour is essential for virtually every painting process – the two main scenarios are: mass production where items from different runs may end up being mixed in a final unit e.g. kitchen doors and bespoke production where the paint requirement can be hard to estimate (or the original size is extended) meaning extra paint is required.
